What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed scheme that helps organisations protect themselves from the most common internet-based threats. It covers five technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, security update management, user access control and malware protection. Certification is based on a self-assessment that is independently verified by a licensed certification body.
What is Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials Plus assesses the same five controls but adds a hands-on, independent technical audit to verify that they are working in practice.
